Job Title Network Technician
Location Calgary, AB
Responsibilities This position requires teamwork with all internal departments and direct contact with clients. Assigned accounts are generally given directly to level 3 consultants, however, accounts may be assigned to level 2 technicians in order to help advance their technical experience. Assigned technicians are responsible for documentation, technical solutions and client satisfaction for each assigned account. In addition, assigned technicians are required to work with account managers to build new solutions and recommend changes for their accounts. Assigned technicians are also required to execute projects, assist in planning and help maintain a smooth operation.
Job Duties
  • Maintain minimum billable hours and corresponding GP as assigned by the General Manager. This level will be communicated and monitored by the employee and General Manager on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain assigned account documentation consisting of the following:
    • Site Maps/audits
    • User lists
    • Password lists
    • Third Party Software Install Guides
    • Service Orders
    • IP Scheme
    • Exceptions
    • Server Checklist
    • Deployment Documents
    • Backup reviews and timelines
  • Ensure client satisfaction.
  • Keep technical skills current.
  • Develop sales skills.
  • Time tracked entries for all work done each day.
  • Submit Service Orders for all work done each day.
  • Consistently punctual for all scheduled appointments including scheduled in-shop work.
  • Contact clients directly for any changes to schedule appointments.
  • Continually seek sales opportunities on all accounts.
  • Assist in planning, preparation and presentation of all client reviews along with the assigned account managers.
  • Commence with all schedule service for both assigned and unassigned accounts.
  • Build common procedures and standards for all consultants to follow.
  • Collaborate with peer consultants.
  • Develop a team environment at SSI Solutions.
  • Help maintain all working areas of SSI Solutions.
Skills/Training
  • IT related certificate or degree prefered
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently to achieve goals
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and team based environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to relate technology/business solutions to customer’s strategic objectives
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to cope with account related issues with a clear and concise approach
  • Familiarity with a Microsoft environment
  • Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle
