History of SSI Solutions
A basement office in Edmonton, Alberta was the birthplace of System Systems Inc. What started as one man's part-time hobby in 1992 slowly developed into a full-time entrepreneurial business venture by early 1996. The goals of this new business were to sell, install and service personal computers as well as provide training on the use of these new systems. When the new team of five business partners out grew the basement office, the company was incorporated and moved to its first office space in November of 1996.
As “word-of-mouth” spread, opportunities grew and the client base expanded. The new office space quickly became too small and a team of eight were on the move again to a new space in 1999. As the company grew and developed, so did the IT industry. The direction began to change from hardware sales to service and support with the addition of custom software solutions. Also in 1999 the company began operation under the name of SSI Solutions.
Over the next four years the focus of the business was narrowed down to providing network solutions to the small and medium sized business market. Long term business partnerships with customers and suppliers were formed along the way allowing for a new growth opportunity in the city of Calgary in May of 2003. By this time the Edmonton operation had grown to a team of twenty-five people and Calgary was established with a small team of three employees.
Over the course of the next three years a new culture was established at SSI Solutions. This culture was one of innovation, energy and dedication to our business partners. In addition to the cultural change, process and structure were created throughout the organization to prepare for SSI Solutions' next growth stage. Ideas pertaining to human resources, sales and product implementation were all developed and were key indicators that the business was ready for another expansion.
In November, 2006 SSI Solutions announced the acquisition of CPU Technologies, an established service company in downtown Calgary. With the success of this new venture all employees of CPU Technologies were offered positions with SSI Solutions and the company doubled in size. Today, the same culture of innovation and dedication exists at SSI Solutions and our employees continue to strive for growth and excellence.
Plans for further expansion are currently being implemented with goals established to reach eight locations across Canada and to be named as one of the top 10 IT firms in Canada by 2010.
